I read about finding a job that suits you. Now I'm curious.

Does this exist? Do people come in with expectations that the boss should be nice, the co-workers a team, the atmosphere welcoming and so on?
It is this all hyperbole?

Yes, it exists. No place is perfect, but some places have a basically healthy environment, and some are hopelessly toxic. The majority fall in between.

I don't know what I expected. I only had experience with a toxic work environment prior. But when I interviewed at my current job I could see that it was everything you mentioned above BH the boss is nice, the co-workers a team, the atmosphere welcoming and so on

I absolutely LOVE my job. I have the most amazing coworkers and boss and everyone gets along fabulously. There is the perfect balance between trust and guidance from the uppers, and everyone has the ability to let their talents shine.

I officially make much less than I should, because I asked too low in the beginning, and I COULD get a raise if I asked for it, but I feel like I am getting paid to have fun... So I don't ask!

It should also be noted that I've worked in very toxic environments before... Company environment is vital to loving what you do.

I got burnt out from the entire field in the toxic job.

I guess that's why I'm looking for career change, in first place. I specialize in a certain field but have totally lost interest because of the toxicity. I've come to associate this field with negativity. ugh.
