I am debading between getting stroller with the option to snap in a car seat vs. getting the doona.
On one hand the doona seems so easy and light. I like that.
On the other hand I will be taking my baby to work and the baby will need to sleep there. The doona can't recline. But if I buy my own car seat I can buy a reclinable one.
I am also hesitant because I anyways will need to buy a real stroller becuase that is where my baby will sleep in the begining.
opinions please

I also really wanted the doona, but I didnt bc I needed to buy a new stroller bc my old one broke...
so spending $500 on something that really only last 1 year didnt make too much sense to me..
ppl really really love the doona for all the reasons you mentioned..
if your taking the baby to work at the beginning the baby will most probably just sleep in the car seat (depending on the baby of course, my first 3 could spend all day in the car seat, but my most recent baby hates the car seat...)
after that, I would just set up a bassinet at work and leave it there
side point- infant car seats recline? im not sure I ever seen one do that?

Leaving a baby in the carseat longer then the car ride is linked to spine problems and sids. If it were me id buy an uppababy and the mesa car seat. The frame is a snap n go for quick errands. Amd the rest of the time you have the stroller. The infamt seat is real nice, they have a new feature that you never have to make straps bigger by taking them apart. And has an easy install. And the cruz has a great push and isnt very heavy.

How about getting a cheap snap n go and a real stroller? They are also very lightweight and are pretty easy to manage.
Some car seats companies also make full strollers which recline totally and can snap in a car seat, some are more lightweight than others, but if you are looking for something for your baby to sleep with overnight, that won't be a good idea.
