I know this is an old thread, but did you try undoing a snood you already have? You can trace it to make a new one.

Wow this is old I haven't had time to knit in so long!!
I did but I used a thicker yarn so it didn't work.
I made a couple without a pattern they came out quite nice but I used cotton so they didn't last.
