Please recommend one that works and smell is not too overpowering (preferably not expensive). Need to get asap.

Also, if anyone knows if this (Repel Lemon Eucalyptus Natural Insect Repellent) http://a.co/hvbXQD4 works for ticks as it doesn't say it repels them. (have it @ home though).

We use Bullfrog suncreen plus repellent. Deet free. Don't think it's natural though. BH works very well.

It's mosquito coast insect repellent so not necessarily for ticks AFAIK.
I must have missed the word tick in your title. I didn't see it before.

I need something specifically for ticks as we'll be in an infested area.

Any suggestions?

Ppl have recommended skeedadle. But they say the organic stuff doesn't work as well. Just check everyone carefully every night.

Thanks ra_mom and bookie.

Will check for ticks of course, but we'd have bad experience in the family with Lyme just from a bite (on an adult that was dressed with long socks/pants/sleeves etc).

If you're really concerned, don't use natural products for this. It's a tradeoff and you have to decide which is more important to you, less chemicals but greater danger of ticks or chemicals with better repellent.

I don't understand. Why would you take a toddler (or anyone) into a tick infested area?

If you knew that all the mosquitoes were carrying malaria, would you take your kids out?

I'm not trying to sound mean. I'm serious. I'd be scared to death! shock

In some areas of the Usa, backyards and parks are tick infested. My backyard is full of them and keeping my kids off the grass is impossible, obviously. So we take every precaution possible.

Look up Rose Geranium oil. It is expensive and the smell is overpowering but it's natural and seems effective.

All of us in Rockland and Orange counties can't stay home forever.

I bought a product called cutter https://www.lowes.com/pd/Cutte.....w_wcB It is not natural. It has 25% deet. It does not have a strong smell (like off). It is working very well and is good for ticks, mosquitoes and other insects. Since we started using it last week my kids who are out all day are not getting any bites or ticks. We live near lots of trees (a forest behind our house) and my kids were getting bitten up and we found many ticks stuck on them this summer. So far this product is working. I would recommend it.

We use Avon Skin So Soft as a mosquito repellent, but it's listed as a tick repellent as well.

Yes, 100%. You do want to try and reapply it frequently, though.
