My 3 year old has a virus and refuses to eat or drink. He just wants to sleep all day. He hasn't drank more than a sip since last night. Yesterday he drank but not much at all. Please advise what I should do

I would keep trying to push a small sip of water of other drink once in a while but lay off the food. I just tried getting my 3 yo to eat and ended up with a night of vomit.

Ices.
If you can have the pharmacist deliver Pedialyte ices, that would be even better so you can get some electrolytes into him.

Cool novelty ices like rocketship. Ices that you don't normally have at home. (Preferably eaten while watching a video so he/she is distracted). Good luck.

Are you sure the child doesn't have strep or is dehydrated?
A big symptom of dehydration is refusing drinks....

Maybe it's the cocasakie virus (not sure how to spell it). It's sores in the mouth and/or throat that really hurt. The doctor can tell u.

Have you spoken with your doctor's office? I would check in with them if my kid want eating or drinking king and was lethargic.

1. Is your child urinating?
2. Is your child lethargic?
Kids get dehydrated a lot faster than adults. You may need to bring him to the ER for IV fluids to hydrate him.

When my daughter is sick, we bribe with juice and/or ice pops. Pedialyte is even better for them, but sometimes they will only take juice/ice pop. Try ice pops that don't require opening the mouth wide.
Try giving your child some baby-motrin or baby-tylenol/acamol. This may relieve the discomfort enough to get him to drink.
Signs of dehydration which require immediate medical attention:
- If your child does not urinate for more than 3 hours, even just one set of 3 hours
- If your child cries and there are no tears
- If your child's eyes look sunken and lips look very dry
- Extreme paleness
- Complaining mouth is extremely dry (no saliva)
- There are more, but I forgot
Other signs which require immediate medical attention:
- Difficulty waking child
- Child doesn't respond coherently or at all when asked direct questions
- Child is lethargic - little movement or won't get up off of couch/bed
- Prolonged crying (for more than 20 minutes straight)
- Stiff/painful neck
I would say if your child goes for several hours without drinking, take them for immediate medical attention, don't wait until things get worse. An IV at this point could prevent worse problems.
I would say take your kid to the doctor at least ASAP.

I was told by my doctor that it's still worth it to prevent dehydration since there's always some that gets left in their body.
