Anyone use airbnb to rent a house for vacation? What was your experience?

We just went to STL for a week and stayed in one. It was great to have a house to ourselves. We precooked everything and double wrapped it in case we couldn't kasher the oven.

Many times- have always enjoyed but I make sure to read all the reviews and communicate a lot with the host before booking

In general it works great and gives you the option to have a lot more space and privacy than you'd get at a hotel, for a lot less money. Of course there are also horror stories (just like at hotels). Make sure to rent a place with a good number of (recent) positive reviews, and if possible, try to speak to the owner/rental agent over the phone to make sure you feel comfortable with the arrangements. Also use an American Express credit card for the booking, as they are the best at protecting you in the event of any disputes.

Hi! Any one of you willing to please share a link & help spare me hours of time?
I'm located in NYC but willing to travel up to 4 hours.
I'm especially interested in any Shabbos friendly rentals. There's been a lot of chatter lately about issues of concern regarding Shabbos at hotels which is the main reason I'd prefer Airbnb.
