I have experience as a parent of a few children who went through the EI system in NYC. I am an evaluator, and service provider, and have knowledge of the administrative portion of the system.
I feel like there is so much that people don't know about the system, that I just want to put it out there that I have a ton of knowledge in this area, and if you have questions, feel free to ask here.
Some examples of questions you may have:
-what can I do if I feel my child needs a service but got denied?
-how come therapist from another agency reached out to me?
-when is the best time to get evaluated?
-I don't like my service coordinator/therapist
-therapist is leaving early
-why do they ask for my insurance? Can I refuse?
If someone asks, anyone who has information, please feel free to share as well.
