ramom it came out very good but It is better on the stove top as the sauce gets more cooked down and thicker but I will still definatly continue to bake it. Easy Supper No Mess!

Thanks! I guess I'll try it without the water, and a bit more of everything else.

I have a delicious minute steak recipe, but it does call for ketchup.

6 slices minute steak
2 T. oil
1 onion, sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup ketchup

Heat oil. Add onions and meat and brown for 15-20 minutes.

Add the remaining ingredients and let simmer for 2-3 hours, covered, until meat is very soft. Add more water if necessary.

Yum!

Does this have a vinegary taste to it? My dh HATES anything with cooked ketchup because of the vinegary taste. I know sounds strange, but I want to make this for shabbos and I need him to like it Smile Are there any other recipes without ketchup?

I just got some minute steak from my mom and I dredged it in flour and fried it real quick. I caramelized onions and then cut the steak into strips and made steak sandwiches. they were better than a restaurant and DH LOVED them.

This has vinegar and ketchup, so it does have a vinegary taste.
Maybe use a cranberry recipe (OldYoung has one), or a sweeter ketchup recipe that doesn't call for additional ketchup (I have many versions), or a teriyaki wine one (also from OldYoung).

Could I bother you to post links for the suggested recipes? I only have red wine in the house, does it matter?

Here's the cranberry steak recipe.
You can use jellied cranberry sauce if you'd like, and 2 tsp onion powder + 1 tsp salt instead of the onion soup mix.

(It needs at least 2 hours of baking time.)

Teriyaki wine steak (you can omit the mushrooms - I never add them), and use some crushed garlic and salt instead of the soup mix.

Thanks ra_mom. Can I use red wine? I have no white wine in the house.

I don't think it will compliment the teriyaki sauce. I am not sure. Use water instead. (or broth, ginger ale, or white grape juice.)

I just made this and burned it terribly. Must of missed the "Add more water if needed"
