We are renting a house and the representative of the family that is acting as our landlord is a young guy who just got engaged. He comes from a nice, frum, yeshivish family. They sent us the vort info. We are a young family with medium-little kids. Is it normal or weird to go to the vort? They live in a different city than us, but the vort is semi-local. My husband doesn't like vorts in general, and we don't have much shaychus with the family other than sending them the rent check and dealing with repairs, but is it a nice gesture for us to show up?

If it's easy, why not? If not, they'll probably understand, with your having little kids.

Maybe just one of you could go to wish mazal tov, while the other stays home with the kids, to simplify the logistics.

If you can't go, you should definitely acknowledge it somehow, with a mazel tov card or a call.
