We live in Brooklyn and our 4 year old has general anxiety about a lot of things, not everything, but it's for sure an issue.
Any suggestions? Should I take her to someone? Is she too young? Will she grow out of it?
Examples: she's extremely nervous when we drive on the highway, especially at night. Or if the windows are open in the car when we're driving...
Or she gets petrified if she thinks I'm not watching my younger daughter. She'll drag her to me so that she makes sure I see her etc.

She doesn't have issues falling asleep, though she needs a light on in her room...

Any suggestions?

Have you tried talking to her about it? Validating her fears?
What have you tried? Professionals can always help, but sometimes a parent can be the best therapist.

I have a 9 year old who is very scared of fire. It started ever since that accident where children died in the fire accident in Brooklyn " Sassoon family "
I calm her down every single night before she goes to sleep, we bought fire extinguisher and we have smoke alarm thats loud and yells "immediately evacuate" if there is smoke, we have tested it. Now I'm wondering if she needs therapy for it. 😕

That's another thing she's scared of, fire.
I definitely validate, but I wonder if she needs more.

Does anyone have experience with a therapist for kids this age? Are they too young to respond?

I know my 5- yr old nephew went to a licensed play therapist for similar reasons and was extremely successful with her. I don't know her name but I can try to find out if your interested, she's located in Williamsburg.

It isn't something they generally grow out of, though it can change. I also recommend therapy - play therapy is common for kids this age.
