I know that my neighborhood isn't one of the "affected neighborhoods" spoken about here and my son's gan does have a security guard standing there all day... It is a bit extreme to jump to abuse though it doesn't hurt to be proactive and aware. I think this is regular gan adjustment issues and I hope they get better soon. He was better today and we spoke about gan a bit.
