Why why why does Karine stay with Paul? They can't speak the same language, that should be reason enough to know it's not a viable relationship. Then, he travels with a whole warehouse full of unnecessary stuff. Not to mention that he insists on her taking std and pregnancy tests. Now, nothing wrong with his being careful and health conscious, but it must be quite a buzz kill. If I were her, I'd tell him to use a condom. He must have one somewhere in his baggage.
But really, who goes for a week long getaway with someone who doesn't speak their language?

But it's totally obvious why they got together: he wanted her looks and she wanted his money. Turns out that he doesn't have the money, but she'd rather not go home.
Even the girl who went to meet the model in Spain makes sense in her own hair brained way. But I just can't get Paul and Karine
