We live in a basement apt and have mold on out clothing and furniture. We have since gotten a dehumidifier and run the AC all the time. I will pick up a special cleaning agencent to clean off the mold. What else to do???

This. Run for your lives. Mold is so dangerous, you don't even want to know. Basements are breeding grounds. If it's on your clothing and furniture... OMG!

What risks are there? Why not just try cleaning the mold with bleach?

I didn't realize the OP was from 2014.
Amber amother, what sort of mold are you experiencing? Is it on your furniture and clothing too?

Mold is porous. It's impossible to eradicate it once it's grown on a porous surface. (If it found its way on glass obviously it can be cleaned with bleach. If it's on sheetrock or wood, the surface can be cleaned but the mold and its dangers still lurk underneath and will continue growing.) It needs to be ripped out totally.
The dangers are real and very serious. I won't post but Google for an idea.

There's mold and mold. Plus IIRC legally if you have (some type of) mold you gotta disclose it.
Some mold is not dangerous, some is easy to eradicate with a professional.
