Yes - these are "fake" since they use Instant Pudding Mix and Cake Mix (the shame) and in no way do they compare with an authentic butter cookie and they aren't whole wheat flour but they are tasty and easy and pareve -
Mimi Hall’s Butter Cookies
Source: Elizabeth Heiskell - What Can I Bring?: Southern Food for Any Occasion Life Serves Up
Makes: 12 dozen
Hands-on: 30 minutes
Total: 2 hours
1 (15.25-ounce) package butter golden cake mix (such as Duncan Hines)
1 (3.4-ounce) package vanilla instant pudding mix (such as Jell-O)
¼ teaspoon table salt
1 cup chopped toasted pecans
1 cup vegetable oil
1 large egg, lightly beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Combine the cake mix, pudding mix, and salt in a large bowl. Add the pecans, oil, egg, and vanilla; beat with an electric mixer on low speed until combined.
2. Drop the dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake in batches in the preheated oven until lightly browned, about 15 minutes. Using a spatula, remove the warm cookies from the cookie sheets, and place on wax paper to cool. Cookies will be crisp. Store cookies in an airtight container.
