Does anyone have any experience with an air fryer? Does it work? Does the food taste ok?

My biggest question is does it work well for battered food. (Such as coated chicken cutlets etc. )

Seems like a great way to fry healthier, but only if it will actually work properly.

Thanks in advance!

it's really overated. I don't think battered food would work. It's more like a rotisserie oven than a fryer. It's also huge and hard to store.

We love ours. I wouldn't use it to "fry" raw breaded chicken, but we use it to cook frozen french fries, nuggets, and tofu. I've cooked chicken cutlets in it, but with a rub on it, not battered.

It's better than the oven. But the compartment is small, so you can't make enough at once to feed a large family.

My kids use it a lot when they need a snack.

We have one. You can get that fried taste with just a drip of oil.

The pieces from this are dishwasher friendly and it comes with a cookbook for all sorts of ideas.

Not a dry batter, but a liquidy one

I don't think a liquid batter is ideal for this machine. But the point is that you can obtain crispyness without it.

ETA: You can dip in seasoned egg and flour (or flour, egg, cornmeal), spray with oil and air fry for good crust.

Interesting! I had no idea this was a thing. We use fryer or pan.
