My washing repairman recommended the Speed Queen for a top loader with agitator. Last time I checked, (which was a few years ago) the newer washing machines without agitators had very bad ratings. They may have gotten better since then, but I have a feeling that not.

I bought one without an agitator. I think it’s a Maytag. It’s semi-new from a refurbished appliance store. I really like it. No agitator makes it easier to fit more inside it, less damage to clothing, easier to get things in and out.
