Would you hire a 17 year old for cleaning help? Is it legal? Her mom send me today instead of her and she was pretty good

How would you tell the mom that you want her daughter instead?

The mom wants me to take the daughter. But I wasn't sure it is legal for 17 year old to do labor work. About the babysitting I don't take for money babysitters under 18

Assuming you are in NY - there is no issue here. I'll assume this is only a few hours a week - so she isn't an employee (which would be fine.. but you'd need to deal with paperwork, as you would her mother - to be legal about it.)
Also will assume daughter is doing this of her own free will.
If you wanted to be extra scrupulous you cold ask for her working papers.
