It depends what you like and also if you sleep together in one bed.
We cuddle together but sleep separately as we need our own sleeping space. We also didn't want to spend an extra $100 per set every time we needed a new set of linen so we weren't that into full size. So we went with twin comforters and they don't hang over that much when we make the beds in the morning but they still look great. It's been over a decade and we're very happy with our decision. I know other people feel differently.

I have twin sized and they fit perfectly. they dont hang over too much which I like.
