I would like to make donations rather than buy meaningless junk for my nephews and nieces. Last year I did JNF and they sent beautiful certificates for each child. I wanted to donate to Chai Lifeline this year, but it doesn't look like they will send any sort of certificate, just a receipt. I will call tomorrow to check this out, but in the meantime if you know of a worthy charity that would be meaningful to kids and that sends out nice "in honor of" certificates, I would really appreciate the suggestions. THANKS!

You can always make your own. We did that for Purim. We designed a card that said "a donation has been made in your honor to xxx."

EFRAT.
But I'd never consider this a gift. I'd be like you gave charity, kuddos, but this has nothing to do with me
