Thank you for this recipe. I just had a Motzoei-Chanukah party with my kids, who had been rather neglected over Chanukah. We made doughnuts together, using your recipe. I just used 4 whole eggs, because I hate throwing out whites. They were easy and delicious! I filled them after frying and dusted with confectioner's sugar.

hi
I am new to Imamother LOL
As I live in South Africa, im not so familiar with the custard you mention for the donuts.
Please clarify, is it an Alprose ready made custard type of product?
thanks so much

Can I refrigerate the raw dough batter and fry a few every night? Will the dough be ok?
Besides for giving a few to a friend, our little family can't eat 40 donuts...

I made these today and they were SCRUMPTIOUS! My husband and kids claimed they were better than the store bought ones. I made half a recipe and used two whole eggs. I filled it with Bakers Choice vanilla custard (before frying) and dusted confectioner's sugar on top. I got 20 large donuts.

Thanks Ronit for the recipe.

These truly are heavenly and so easy! I added 2 Tbsp of cognac at the end of mixing the dough because I read in a diff recipe that it helps the donuts not absorb too much oil! I can't even go back to eating bakery donuts after I've made and tasted(way too many) of these!

Just bumping this old thread because it looks so divine , my mouth is just watering reading the posts and I plan on making these. You may decide to try these too once you read through the thread. Have a Happy Chanukah!!!
