I can’t believe people use so many ona regular basis.

I use:
Black pepper
Paprika
Garlic powder
Smoked paprika

Less often:
Parsley flakes
Onion powder
White pepper
Cinnamon
Basil
Oregano

The rest I only use in specific recipes.

I use Himalayan salt, garlic powder, black pepper and paprika on a daily basis. I also often use TJ’s everything seasoning, thyme, rosemary, chili powder, curry, and turmeric. Maybe a few others I’m forgetting.

BTW, I'd KILL to get fresh lemongrass in Israel. Because it's a live plant, I can't have anyone bring it in for me. They'd get in trouble at customs. Sad

I have a cabinet full but these are the ones in regular rotation

cumin
turmeric
chili powder
paprika
pink Himalayan sea salt
ginger
cinnamon
hot pepper flakes
curry powder
garlic powder (I mostly use fresh garlic, but we like this on popcorn)

I also use fresh sage and thyme, and in the summer, fresh basil

@Frantic Frummie, would someone be allowed to bring in seeds? Lemongrass is pretty easy to grow.

Nope. But in any case, it's not a spice;)

It's seasoning.
The ingredients are mostly chemicals.

Sure do but I don't refer to that as a "spice"

Yes, I do use soup mix, and if OP wants to grow her selection, there are MSG-free soup mixes available.
As for spices
Salt
Pepper - black, red, red pepper flakes
Onion powder, flakes
Garlic, sparingly because of a family member's preference
Paprika
Cinnamon
Chili powder, which I think is a combination of spices
Dill - seeds (love it in soup and gefilte fish; if I have a filter bag available I put them in there) and weed. I don't use fresh unless in a filter bag.
Tarragon. I love it. I just saw a chopped liver recipe that called for it.
Sage, marjoram, thyme. Marjoram in a zucchini parsnip soup.
Cumin - in lots of stuff. I'll probably make a certain chicken recipe I use it in.
Mustard seed - my variation of Itai's Four Onion Chicken in KBD Brings it Home. (That would probably make Susie Fishbein weep; I don't exactly follow the directions.) I use it in other things too, can't remember off hand what... haricots verte, I think.
Dried mustard
Old Bay Seasoning - not just for fish, good on chicken too
Bay leaves

Gotta go. I know I'm forgetting a few.

ETA:
Basil - not so much. I like it but not everyone does. I have a salad dressing that goes nicely with a salad served with fish. Other things, but it's been a while
Oregano - how did I forget?
Ginger - ditto.
I have a Belgian White Ale spice blend I got for an IIRC Mishpacha recipe. I love it. Others don't.

I've bought it in Jerusalem before. There's a Friday market run by one of the organic farms where they sell their produce.

What do you guys use smoked paprika for? Now I'm thinking I should add it to my spice cabinet...

I looove spices!
The only one that I have that I haven't seen other people post is cardamom: it's a delicious spice in both sweet and savory cooking.

I am in love with Thyme lately. I use it on antipasti veggies, on salmon with crushed garlic, honey and olive oil, use it in tomato sauces...

There are two spices I use all the time that I didn't see mentioned here: Chawayej, a yemenite spice blend. I put it on my shabbos tilapia dish. Also, adds a lot of flavour to chicken soup. I also use "grill off"- a combination of diff. spices with an Isreali flavor. I put a generous amount in my cholent, on chicken when I am being lazy and just want a dish I can prepare in seconds, and also add it to my shabbos tilapia dish.

on a side note, does anyone know what the spice named "hell" in Hebrew would be called in English?

When in season, I also use bug- free fresh Nana (dunno what it's called in english0maybe peppermint?) to make homemade Iced-tea.
