I'm starting an online business.

How would I go about creating a website?

Should I have someone else do it for me or do it myself? Are there websites to create websites?

Any help is appreciated.

If you’re not tech savvy you can have someone on fiverr.com build you a site for super cheap. Once your business grows you can polish it up.
Just make sure the web Designer hands you the control keys- that you have full control on editing the site and not him.

Check out Shopify.com

Extremely simple way to build a website. The website is really already built for you. But that’s if your selling merchandise. I don’t know if it works for other websites

I personally like wordpress, but can't compare it to wix from the point of view of a non-programmer. You do NOT need to know how to program to use Wordpress, but it maybe went easier for me because I do know how. There are soooo many free themes and plugins that you can make it do just about anything in very little time.

You will need a domain name and a hosting company. Most hosting companies have an easy way to do a one-click install of wordpress. Then the canvas is yours. If you don't want to pay for a theme but want more control over layout and design, you can use the Elementor plugin to let you manipulate where things appear.

I've built several sites using wordpress, and they're all very, very different from each other. I'm about to roll out a fresh site using a Parallax type of theme which has a more modern and less template-y feel. You can really do just about anything!
