Ds 8 talks very slow and flat tone-no expression. I'm nervous other kids shouldn't get nervous from him. Must be very boring listening to him talk. Anything could do about it??

Has he been screened for Autism? Speech and language therapy can help him immensely, as well as social skills classes.

Not worried about autism since he's doing great in other areas bh.
He did have speech therapy till this year. They did work on speed and tones which he knew when practicing but doesn't apply to real life. Anything else I can do?
Im nervous to make a whole thing about it since that will make him have a complex on his speech. Don't want to make it worse or he should feel uncomfortable when talking.

I had speech therapy for myself many years as a child and even though my speech now is almost perfect I still have a complex when talk to other ppl especially strangers

Honestly, if he's pronouncing things clearly, doing well academically, and has friends, I wouldn't worry about it a bit. We all have things about us that are quirky.

Maybe he'll have a great future in radio broadcasting!

Yes he bh OK in other areas.
He bh has some friends that are more calm kids. Problem is most boys are more active than him. He'll enjoy rather sitting and building legos, drawing coloring.. than playing wild boy games.

Just curious. Changes in speed, tone and procidy of speech can be indicative of certain things.

Was he ever tested for an auditory processing disorder? Many people with APD do not hear the tone they speak in.

So you have a sweet, calm boy. Some mothers would be extremely jealous!

Again, don't worry. He has his own derech, and he'll find his own niche. He doesn't need to be just like everyone else. As long as he's functioning and making his way in the world, he's fine just the way he is - he's just being his own person.

Some introverted woman will think he's the perfect husband.

Thanks for your message. Think your right.
I shouldn't be worried other kids will find him boring? I find most boys are active, wild, quick moving. It's definitely easier this way just hard to see him many times on sidelines because he's not typical. .
