In our shul one of the converts chose her name the name of the parsha which she got converted on. Chayai Sara.
Ruchel nice thread more intelligent then what some others have posted

I remember that one of them - his grandfather was the brother of a gadol and he was not nearly as frum - and his son intermarried. This boy was the child of that marriage. The other story was similar, but I don't remember the details.

While its true that you aren't meant to remind for a certain amount of generations (I think 6) a ger of their background, Ruchel did not address any one person with the thread that she started.
She asked a question that anyone eligible could choose to answer or not.
Saying she was breaking that rule is like saying we shouldn't discuss gerius at all on this site, and there have been a number of discussions already on the topic.
Its also like saying that a convert himself cannot publicly discuss his own past because of others that may hear/read him or her.
