I dont know how she got the original bruise to pick but my three yr old is forever picking a bruise on her scalp. Its not healing because as soon as it scabs over she picks it. Its in a constant "raw" state. It has become a terrible habit where I am constantly telling her to stop touching her booboo. I noticed she also has another spot that she is picking towards the back of her head. Is there any over the counter meds I should put on these two spots to help them heal and any advice on how to stop this habit.

She may have trichotillomania, which is basically a body-picking syndrome. Speak to your ped.

Is she getting as many hugs as she needs? It's a serious question. I have a child who when she wasn't getting all the hugs she needed she picked her skin and nose and brows.
