Just wana put it out there for next time, I toviel my stuff in a shopping basket the one the grocery has. Its prevents it from sinking in.

If you wet your hands first with mikvah water, you don't have to let go of your items when you toveil them.
As always, AYLOR, but this is pretty widely accepted.

Buy a swimming pool. Preferably heated, indoor... And use that thingy that skims off the top of the pool. But first put the pool in and invite us. If we're invited, we might buy you what you lost in the Mikvah, as a gift. 😁

Grabber or fishing net. Both inexpensive and nice donation to mikva for next person that drops a dish.
