Think about the meanings of the names, besides the sounds.
And if appropriate, b'shaa tova!

I know people who are both Liana and Eliana, including Elianas who don't go by Ellie.

I read an article on materna.co.il that its best not to put hashems name in name if its not from tanach. So ex elisheva is from tanach so its ok. would pple get meaning of liana? Does Eliana sound more jewish?!

Interesting.
I've never heard the name Liana. It's actually quite pretty and sounds like it's already in use.

So people who breastfeed don't need to worry, right?

I have an Eliana. Never heard of Liana but it's pretty. I was looking for an "Eli..." name because of who my daughter is named after, so it was never a question for me if that's how her name would start. But the meaning is pretty much the same either way since really, who else would be answering you besides hashem?
