I really do not think there is anything to do while pregnant for it you can reasearch it and start taking vitamins and such sort fo things right when the baby is born.

I had a problem with my first four children with my milk taking a long time to come in (10 days!).

With my 5th, I spoke to and emailed Dr. Jack Newman, a Canadian doctor who specializes in breastfeeding. He is always available for email questions, and is a great resource.
I had read about the herbs Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle as being very helpful in increasing milk supply.
My question to him was similar to yours: Could I do something while still pregnant to increase my milk.
His answer was no. But suggested that IMMEDIATELY after the birth, I begin taking those two herbs, and continue taking them 3 times a day until my milk supply was well established.

As far as I'm concerned, IT WORKED! For the first time (5th baby), my milk came in on the 2nd day!! It made a huge difference in the baby not getting jaundiced etc.

HTH,

I'm so glad I was looking through old posts tonight! With my first 2 I have had the same problem (VERY low supply, speculated due to too little of the proper tissue--bc well, no other reason could be found, and milk coming in late to boot (5th-6th day!). I'm going to have these herbs on hand iyh when the next one comes along.
