I moved into an apartment that has a yucky bathtub. Is it a big deal to replace it with a new one? Who is reliable and does good work?

I think replacing a bathtub is expensive. I redid a whole bathroom, and I ordered my bathtub online according to my specifications. If your bathtub is yucky, maybe it just needs to be reglazed which is a lot cheaper than replacing.

You can buy a bathtub from home Depot for $120
The installation and the removal will cost more

Thanks! I understand purchasing the tub isn't the big deal. Who's an experienced installer and remover?
I haven't showered in a few months because I'm so grossed out by this tub.

It could cost $5k.
You should hire someone to resurface/reglaze the existing tub and make it new again.

No kidding! Even the less expensive ones? I just want a simple basic one, nothing fancy or high end.
And whom can I trust with reglazing?

It costs so much because of the labor of removing, installing, plumbing. It's all about the plumbing. Reglazing doesn't involve plumbing.

If your tub is an old tub and is cast iron, oh boy! will they charge for the removal of that! That weighs like 500 lbs.
