posting for a friend- Does anyone know of an orthopedist that specializes in hands/upper extremeties? There may be one in the hospital for special surgery... Any recommendation would be helpful!

I heard and have used Dr. Patel in BP next to Maimonidies- his specialty is hands.

I would use someone in hospital for joint diseases. We used Dr. Grant.

I used Dr. Patel once. In my opinion he's useless, an opinion also said by a top orthopedist in Methodist (not a hand specialist, unfortunately.) There's a Dr. Ruffie (sp) in Manhattan who is supposed to be amazing, but I don't know if he's an orthpoedic surgeon.
Have you called ECHO for referrals?.

Dr Aaron Daluiski,
and Dr Salvature Lenzo

I went to dr. Lenzo for a second opinion. He seemed experienced but it was just one office visit.
I had surgery with dr. Howard Goodman and was very happy with all aspects. I would highly recommend him.
I do not have a good opinion of dr. Patel.
