There are two houses for sale in my neighborhood.
One was $1.6M and is in contract for $1.5M the other is for $2.5M and AFAIK isn't in contract yet.
Prices are way out of proportion - the house for 2.5 is the exact same as the 1.5

I'm a little confused. The way we bought a house, was deciding how much we could afford max and bidding what we estimated to be a reasonable price hopefully lower than that number on every house we could possibly live in. Eventually our offer was accepted.
