Here's one that I have only tried out once. It came out pretty good, though haven't made it again.

1/4 package angel hair pasta broken in thirds and cooked
1 package of red cabbage- bodek
2-3 scallions
1 cup toasted almonds
1/4 cup sesame seeds toasted.

Dressing:
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup oil 1 tsp salt.

mix everything besides almonds and sesame seeds with dressing and then add almonds and seeds before serving.

Use which ever cabbage suits your fancy however this veggie in particular is known to be infested with bugs. Therefore bodek is just the safer way to go.

actually red cabbage is not problematic re bugs

star-k veggie checking list

(scroll down to vegetables that only require washing)

edited: for some reason when I click on the link I posted it just redirects me to the home page instead of the veggie list: therefore, click on "kosher consumer" then click on "latest star-k lists" (under the kosher consumer tab), then click on "checking vegetables"

no prob, I just discovered these star-k lists when I was checking out kosher prenatal vitamins. I find the veggie one invaluable, and constantly refer to it...

btw, the star-k list is probably only for u.s. fruits/veggies!
and what does this mean?:
Quote:
Vegetables that Cannot be Checked:
Artichoke Hearts
Brussel Sprouts

I've seen people serve both of these- can we not eat them? (not that I mind- I'm not a fan of either!)

They must not be aware that they can't be checked.
