I read that according to one popular author, the 5 most common things that drive our lives are: guilt, anger, fear, materialism, and approval.
Sounds too bleak to me. I would include love-connection.
What do you think drives us?

I agree with Motek's original comment. I would definitely add love to the list.
I think some people are driven by a thirst to know (to learn, to improve themselves, to understand the way things work), because some people live to read and learn. Maybe I could phrase that better.
Sadly, in my case, I'm often driven by hunger and a need for sugar, but that's between me and Weight Watchers.
