I know in general that in cold weather it's recommended to dress a baby in one more layer than we're wearing. But what if we're going to be outside a lot. We have to walk somewhere on Shabbos that's a mile away. We'll be moving and walking so it won't be too bad for us but the baby will just be sitting there. If it's very cold is one extra layer enough?

Multiple thin layers accomplish a lot more than one thick layer. Dress your baby in a comfy outfit, and layer on another one. With the snowsuit and blanket, it will be perfect. Keep rotating him in the carriage so that the wind doesn’t hit him in the same spot continuously.
