I am planning a vacation to Aruba with DH after the summer. Is there kosher food? Wondering if anyone has interesting thoughts/suggestions on this. Perhaps a specific hotel or attraction to visit? I'd love info! 8) Much appreciated!

I was in Aruba and it was something special!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved every single minute of it!! theres nothing like it.. the sand .. GOURGOUS!! my favorite vacation place.

I stayed by the Reneissance hotel it was gourgous they have their own island so its pretty quiet and private.. Unfortultly there is no kosher food there what we did is bought frozen meals and microved it.

just 1 thing: there is not alot to do at night unless u like to gamble there are no shows at all.... theeres only beaches and casinos!

Hope u have a great time!

Hi, I was there a few months ago with dh on our honeymoon. It was worth every minute! I loved it. Gorgeous beaches and pools, great weathers and a nice colorful shopping area downtown.
We took along frozen dinners which we warmed up in the hotel's microwave (the dinners come triple wrapped so it can be warmed up in a nonkosher microwave), we took a long like a milk and bread. the rest we mainly bought there. all fruits and veggies, eggs, (we took along a little pot and a single burner). some tuna cans etc. I think there is a kosher place open during winters. We went in the summer so it was whatever we took along. But there is a lot of kosher products in the supermarket there.

Enjoy the vacation!

Amother- don't feel bad! there are plenty of beautiful places that do have minyanim!

I don't mean this comment to be mean but I was thinking you were going to say that DH didnt want to go cuz of all the half naked women! That's why my husband wouldn't go....(Heck! my husband didnt even go to the bedekin of his cousin cuz there were women in the room dressing and acting inapropriately!)

No. There isn't even a kosher mikve. I had a chassene there about 10 years ago, and the bride had to dip in the sea.

There is a kosher stand attached to one of the hotels there I'm pretty sure. I've had a few friends go there and there didnt seem to be a problem getting kosher food. Google kosher and aruba and im sure itll come up. It might only be open during busy season.

Aruba is not that far from Curacao (a part of Dutch Antilles A-B-C, Aruba-Bonaire-Curacao). Curacao has an Ashkenazic orthodox minyan. Can't remember the name right now (sad, aging) but we were there about 8-10 yrs ago. I also recall finding imported kosher food there. There is the oldest synagogue in western hemisphere (which is now a reform synagogue) with sand floor, strongly worth a visit (interestingly the shul is the major tourist attraction for non-jews as well). Bonaire is the smallest of the three, really nothing there aside from salty marshes and LOTS of flamingos.
