Its hard to describe what it is but they have the ones that come "ready made"-all u have to do is put it into a pot of boiling water (pkg tells u how much) and cook it for few minutes. Spiced and all...

my idea of farfel is osems Israeli couscous, I fry onions until lightly brown, then pour in farfel add salt and spices toast a little, then add water to cover and cook until water evaporates taste and add more water if necessary.

The stores sell them in a blue or green package by the companies Landau or Chuster. You cook with water and add some spices. You can even make it a little elegant by adding sauted oinions and tiny pieces of carrots.

my idea of farfel (I had no idea there were so many different ideas of farfel- nor did I imagine that there are people who think of farfel as a salad or dip )
fry a diced onion
add a package of small square egg noodles, fry a little more
add salt, pepper, hot water, cook til water is absorbed
my favorite comfort food!

I am trying to figure out if I can have it on the weight watchers core diet. Is it a rice/grain/pasta? I'm still confused!

it's pasta. (sorry!)
if you're watching your weight, I'd go with brown rice or quinoa. or whole grain pasta, except I hate that stuff.
