I'm expecting a boy soon and we are naming him nesanel. We're not into the english name thing but I think that nesanel isnt so easy to pronounce and I dont want him to have issues with it. Nathan is nixed cuz its a grandpa's name and nathaniel sounds so... well I dont like it. Any other ideas?

These aren't English names, but easier Hebrew names that could come from the Hebrew Netanel - Eli, Natan, Nati, Tani.

Um... Nathaniel is the Anglicized version of Netanel/Nesanel.

The little guy in my icon is Netanel Simcha. His American birth certificate and passport says "Nathaniel Simcha" on it. His Israeli paperwork says Netanel Simcha.
We call him Nati or "Noosh" (Nun, Shin of his name).

Well, I know a cute little-boy Nate so that's who I think of...
Nati is very modern-Israeli sounding, nice but not "classic." Very cute, though.

Nathan, Nathaniel.
Non frum family insisted on calling my son (Nesanel) as Nate, Nathaniel, and Natan ?...
It drove me nuts and I thought it sounded horrible bc it's NOT his name.
That aside, I think Nathan and Nathaniel are very nice English names, in my case it was not my kavana so they just sounded wrong for my son.
If your kavana is that you want an English name, these are wonderful times, IMHO.

just call him frank and enter him in the nathan's hot dog contest ...
if you ask me they all sound alike from nesanel to nethanial to nate to nathan ... 
just name him nesanel it can cover hebrew & english

My cousin named her son Netanel and we all call him Natey (it's cute), also a close family friend is Netanel and his family (and us) call him Nuti (he's sfardi, if that makes a difference)

so name him nati or nusi on his paperwork. I have a friend with a kid aryeh leib & his legal name is ari. I'm not a fan of english names though. neither of my kids have one. I do, maybe that's why.
