There are the classics: potato kugel, broccoli kugel, farfel, roasted potatoes, stir fry (al of which you can pm me for the recipes, I use a lot of garlic).

You can also make an interesting rice or the rice in the oven or rice and shells in the oven.

Any recipe you make during the week can just be added a little to it to make it more shabbosdik.

Hatzlacha.

Spinache pie, string beans with garlic, vegetable rice, spicy baked potatoes...
I don't cook any sweet foods. I prefer desserts to be sweet and the food not.

Bulgur Pilaf
Barley Pilaf
Corn salad
Potatoes/Potato salad
Pasta salad
Quinoa
Tabbouleh
... to name a few starches
We don't eat sweet veggies - most have a vinegar/lemon juice based dressing
Antipastin (roasted veggies)

Here are some things that I make:
you can cut up a few potatoes or use small white or red and put them in a baking dish
add chopped garlic and onion
some olive oil
salt and pepper and any other spice you like
cover and bake

you can try a vegetable stir fry
or vegetable kugle-I have a recipe for one but dont have it with me at the moment
rice with sauted onions, garlic and mushrooms
couscous which I usually saute with mushrooms garlic and onions
I roast asparagus in the oven with a little olive oil, salt and pepper ( you can add soy sauce as well)

You can put vegetables under the chicken; rice in the oven; I do green beans with an onion and tomato, some salt and olive oil, and boil; borekas; deli roll, sesame noodles; roasted cauliflower; big green salad...

roast potatoes with pesto is delicious. Its in one of the kbd books but basically roast a bunch of baby potatoes with oil and salt for 40 mins, then stir in the pesto and cook for 20 more.

Sautee an onion in a bit of (canola) oil. Add 2 boxes frozen spinache defrosted (squeeze out the liquid first). Add one egg, one heaping tablespoon (light) mayonaise, some salt and pepper and a bit of cumin. Mix it all together and pour it into a frozen pie crust. Bake on 350* for an hour. You can also bake it in individual cupcake holders (without pie crust) for about a half an hour to make them into little patties.

I made this tonight for dinner - it was delicious! I added some garlic powder ( we're big garlic fans) we loved it here :-)

Thanks lady g!
