Anyone have any good recipes for broccoli as an everyday hot side dish? Not kugels, or broccoli salads, or anything cold.
Thanks

I make a roux with flour, oil, and fresh crushed garlic on a medium flame until it started to bubble. I add chopped broccoli and boiling water. Keep mixing, add onion soup mix and some salt and pepper. Bring to boil, lower flame, cover (make sure to break up frozen pieces with spoon and mix). Cook for anywhere from 1-3 hours. Blend with a hand blender (can keep some pieces for consistency).
I just made a huge batch and froze individual portions in the freezer.

I don't have a blender unfortunately...I'm wondering how far I would get with just chopping the pieces into little itty bitty bits and then cooking them....

I should have specified that I wanted to use frozen broccolli.
Lani22 - can I do the same thing with frozen broccoli?
Fabulous - can I make your soup with frozen broccoli?

Sure just microwave the broccoli till tender then throw in frying pan with chopped garlic, salt and pepper and a bit of oil.
