My talented, innovative relative has been developing a Jewish version of Dance Dance Revolution, an arcade game, which is fun and has caused people "addicted" to it to lose tons of weight. It's already in one gym (Ave F and McDonald in Brooklyn) for those that want to try it. It will hopefully be reaching other gyms in the future.
She also developed a great one for home use. Yet, before it gets fully manufactured and hits store shelves (where it'll retail over $150 due to the extensive cost of the really cool game pads) it needs to get tested.
I'm providing you the info, if you're interested in trying out this cool product before it's ready to be sold.
Join the Step It Up Team
Chanukah Beta Test Drive
You can be one of the first 50
people to own this exciting new dance game!
What is Step It Up?
Are you familiar with Dance Dance Revolution
or have you seen 4-arrow dance games played in arcades?
Were you reluctant to purchase a dance game because
you don’t want to bring secular music into your home?
Now you can join in the fun and fitness benefits of a
dance game right on your home computer!
Step It Up is the Jewish dance game alternative,
Featuring songs from popular artists and producers such as
Avraham Fried, Eli Gerstner, Dovid Gabay, etc!
Computer software and metal dance pad included!
To receive your game for Chanukah,
RSVP by December 12th:
Send an email with your contact information
To JewishDanceGame@gmail.com

The concept of Step It Up is pretty simple. The colored arrows (up, down, right and left), which represent notes, float up the screen based according to the beat of the song; as they reach targets, the player presses a button corresponding to the target on his/her dance pad and is judged based on his/her timing. Each note is then graded on the level of accuracy achieved, with the final score being presented at the end of the song. High scores are good for bragging rights Wink and keeps the competitive edge to this game. You will find that not only are you playing this game to work out, but you are doing it because it is fun and challenging!
Step It Up was developed by a young woman who had no time or resources for a gym subscription, but wanted to keep her weight down. She tried the non-Jewish alternative on her home computer but soon realized that the music was not appropriate… so she developed her own version of the game so that her brothers can play! The software is now in its end stages of development and is available for testing.
Testers receive a full functional game software and a metal dance pad, along with 10 popular Jewish songs, and 20 instrumental songs (secular, but appropriate), all for $120, to cover expenses of the metal pad and shipping of game components. Full retail price of the game will be $150+, so this is at least a $30 savings. The tester is required to fill out a short survey on the game performance. When this survey is received, and when the final version of the game is available, testers are entitled to a full game upgrade. This game would make a perfect gift for Chanukah, but bear in mind that the receiver of the gift will still have to fill out a short survey.
For those interested in fitness, Step It Up can also keep track of total calories burned.

120, I wish I could, but I think it's too much at the moment. I will mention it to DH though!
Who will be selling it when it actually comes out?

It sounds really interesting but it may just be another buying the treadmill and forgetting about it after two weeks (not that I have, but that idea). And $120 is too much to spend on a whim that I may not indulge often enough. But hatzlacha raba.

This isn't an ad or infomercial as the product isn't on shelves. They're just trying to have it tested now, but being that the person behind this is a single, young woman she can't fund these expensive games to be shelled out and tested. So anyone who wants it at a price cheaper than retail- it will just cover the expenses of the game/shipping to test it, will then get the full version free.

If they are trying to get it tested, they shouldn’t charge for it. they should pay the testers for their time.

What time? Its made for people that want to buy this program regardless. So for someone that wants it for a few minutes to fill out a survey they get $30 off. Not a bad deal.
