I'm making a kiddush this shabbos and I can't help but think that perhaps it's inappropriate now with all the problems in Israel

If anything, I think it's wonderful to celebrate the birth of yet another Jewish neshama specifically when we are dealing with times like these. Just my opinion. Mazel Tov!

I agree with the above posters. I would recomend trying to incorporate the situation into your simcha in an appropraite way, like saying some Tehillim or collecting a donation. Mazal Tov!
