Is there a way to fix a chip in the wall? DH moved some large wood shelves & accidentally bumped into the wall & made a small dent. Is there any way to fix it without repainting the entire wall??

do you have the same paint ... then yes ... get some plaster to spackle the hole - then prime & paint ...

If the wall is white, and the spot is not too big, you can buy a small container of plaster at the hardware store, along with the "knife" that you use to neatly repair the dent. If the wall is not white, you will need paint that is the same color as the one on the wall, to cover the white plaster.

After I plaster & paint that small damaged part, won't there be a obvious mark of new & old paint?

It depends where on the wall the chip is located. Also, you have to use a tiny brush and paint very lightly if you want the spot to be as inconspicuous as possible.
