I am looking for an idea of something that I can give out at my son's Bar Mitzvah. I don't want to spend too much.

Good idea and very appropriate. And one that includes bentching.

I would like to give something other than a bencher (I think everyone has too much Shaimos) but I'd like to have a momento from the Bar Mitzvah.

How about a cute sovenier box with mints or something or do you want it to be a long lasting thing?

The little mincha-maariv booklets cost the same as a laminated tri-fold bencher. (You can get either for about $1.50 each with set-up.)

There's always yarmulkas... or tefillin mirrors? small pushkas?

Also remember you don't have to print SO many benchers (or mincha-maarivs) if you choose to do them. Hand them out to each family at the end rather than leave them on a table. If you run out, you run out. Just print what's in your budget.

I'm sure other people will come up with more original ideas for giveaways. I guess I'm kind of traditional!

I was looking for something original too, and just finished making up a Havdalah card which I had printed. It has the Havdalah, and a chart that tells you when to useor not use the wine, b'samim & candle! If you like I could show you!

I found something at target for a really good price, and individualized it for my son. He didn't know about it and was surprised at his bar mitzvah, which was a beautiful affair. Thank you all for your responses
