Hi ladies, I need your help.
I'm working on a slide presentation for my class. We are all married with kids by now and lost touch a bit. So we decided to do a nice slide show with all our kids and updates so we can keep in touch and know a bit of our current life.
I'm looking for a nice (a few actually) songs to use as background. I'd prefer a song about reconnecting, keeping in touch, getting to know each other again, growing up.... etc. You get the idea right?
There are some limitations to the song because not all classmates will listen to all music. It can be a female or male singer. That shouldn't matter. But no rap or slang singing. An in between tune would be great, not too slow and not too fast. But anything with appropriate words would be fine as well.
Thanks!!

you can listen to a clip on mostly music. The song is by Avrohom Fried
These are the lyrics
Avraham Fried
Forever One
Composed by Yossi Green
Look inside through the heart of a Jew
Open up its many doors
And the soul that you'll see there inside
Is a reflection of yours
For each soul is a part of one whole
That joins us to each other
We are all part of one another
And we have always been one
We began as a nation to live
And believe with one heart
You and I we were all gathered there
As one we said we'll do and hear
We were born to belong together
And forever be one
Forever one we will go far
It's not I am but who we are
We need just to believe it
We need to try and feel it
And never are we alone
We have each other as our own
Nothing can divide us
For we are forever one
These are times when we might drift apart
And go our own separate ways
But the spark from above that we share
Is alive and ablaze
Soon Moshiach will gather each spark
And shine away the darkness
He will gather us all together
And we shall ever be one

It's an exciting film with memories. I wouldn't want to make the audiance cry. I need more of a friendship song. Preferably a Jewish artist. Do any of the female singers have one? Like Malky Giniger or Kineret etc.

Would you like to explain what you mean by a "real 'black' singer"? I'm sure you didn't mean to be as racist as this sounds but we aren't always aware of how things sound.

I have the perfect song...
CLOSE YOUR EYES
Close your eyes, recollect
The years that have passed
Etched in our minds
Memories reflect
Friendships are linked
Bonds holding strong
The chain carries on
Connecting in song
Chorus: Sing 2x
Hearts sharing smiles
Emerging through tears
Our love never fading
Throughout all these years
Capture the memories
Strengthen the ties
______forever you're mine.
Second time, the last sentence reads:
______we can't sat goodbye.
The blank gets filled in with wherever you're all from....Bais Yakov, Camp Faiga, etc.... I've heard a few different versions of it..
It's a really nice song.

OMG, if you aren't sure I meant to be a racists, or how it sounds, why couldn't you do it in a smart fasion as greenfire. Firstly I was bz and in a rush and didn't even think twice before typing. Of course I meant no harm! I didn't know how else to explain the style of music. In fact I didn't even mean the color skin at all. I was referring to the slang, deep accent and rap style. There are white singers who sing that way as well and it totally doesn't matter to me wether the singer is white black or purple.
Do you get offended when someone calls you white instead of caucasian?? Not everything is racism ya know...

Thanks so much metromom! The words are really perfect!
But I don't need lyrics, I was looking for a ready song with music. Something I don't have to compose music for and record.
Does it have a recorded version somewhere? Can I find this song somewhere online?

There is definitely a recorded version out there but unfortunately I do not know the correct name of the song so I do not know how to search for it.

I hope that days come easy and moments pass slow,
And each road leads you where you want to go,
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,
More then anything, more then anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it,
To your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more then you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.
I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And you always give more then you take.
Oh More then anything, Yeah, and more then anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it,
To your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more then you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

Malky giniger does have a friendship high school song. It's on one of her tapes. It's really nice
missing some lines, and some words are probably wrong.
looking back, remembering the years
sifting through the memories of friendship love and tears
friends who stood beside you
laughed when you were glad
shared in all your secrets
and cried when you were sad
someone to hold on to
always a time to give
someone who to learn from
to love and to forgive
Chorus:
remember today for tomorrow will come
and you'll look back and say
Thought it had just begun
for time has its ways
you can fly right through the days
so hold on and remember
Whispers in the darkness, a hand to dry my tears
...... ............................
......................
4 years of uniting, we formed a bond so strong
we'll always have these friendships and we'll always have our song...
we have all these moments hidden deep within our hearts
we must never forget them
no we can never grow apart
for we've come to be a family
each of us has her own pace
noone can eliminate the spark and glow upon each face
we all must part sometime
I'm afraid the time has come
but I hope you all remember
that we will forever be one
chorus
I don't know where you can find the tune but ask around for her tapes, it was a tape from a while ago.
