Interesting. How long would you boil them and how long would you bake them and on what temp?
Would you put on anything (I.e. egg wash) before you bake them?

I don't know. My mother used to make these. When I tried making it, they came out ok but not how she used to make them... So I don't want to tell you exact times.

I boiled them for 2-3 minutes I think, then put them on a tray, put kosher salt on it, then baked till golden brown. Then ate with mustard.

Anyone made hot pretzels successfully?
I think this might be a good lunch idea for my husband.
Can I stuff them? I.e. make cheese pretzels?

never made them but here's a Pillsbury recipe from a bag of flour

3 to 3-1/2 cups flour
1 tbs sugar
1 tsp salt
1 pkg dry yeast
1 cup water
1 tbs crisco

mix let rise

shape let rise 20 min

then place in boiling water mix for 15 sec each side

6 cups water
1/4 cup baking soda

sprinkle with coarse salt and bake on greased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes

The second link cited above is my recipe for "Auntie Annie's" pretzels (taken from somewhere years ago, so not really mine), and I make them every few months. They are really yummy and not too tough to make. I just dip them in water with baking soda before baking, so no boiling, but it works really nicely.
