I know this may sound a little weird, but I've always liked girl names that sound like boy names (or that actually ARE boy names, but that are suitable for girls too). For instance, Yona for a girl.
Can you give me some other names that fit this description?
Thanks so much!

Daniel/Danielle.
I always thought it would be cute to give those names to twins (a boy and girl obviously). I wouldn't though, it would invite too much teasing!

I know a Yaakova and a Yosefa.
But I'm not a fan of making a boys' name into a girls name by adding a letter or two.
I'd stick with Yona or Simcha.
Might you be willing to share your reason?

OP here
There's no particular reason...I just really like boyish names for girls. I don't know why. I noticed this fondness with English names (I have a friend whose daughter's name is Charlie (short for Charlotte) and another friend who named her daughter "Jordan", and I thought they were cute. So I wondered whether it would translate into Hebrew names...whether I would like boyish names for girls. And I do! I like Yonah and Noa (but Yonah is out because a close relative has that name), so I'm just looking for other examples that I might like!

I live in Israel so here are some Israeli names:
Yuval is unisex. So is Bar (probably not a good name in chu"l).
Noam is a traditional boys' name that has become popular for girls lately.
If you like Jordan, the Hebrew version is Yarden. Normally the feminine version would be Yardena, but lately I have heard of girls called Yarden.
I'm sure I know of more but can't think of them right now. Will come back if I remember some.

are you planning to give your sons names that sound feminine too?
(I happen to love the name Yona, but not because it sounds like a boys name. I love the meaning)
I hate names like yaakova etc.
Your kid could have some intereting mix ups.
I know both a female and male Stav.

Both of my sons have names that could be boy or girl. Yonah I knew about, but Chanina I thought was only a boy's name. I have heard since that its a girl too.
My daughter on the other hand has only a girl's name.

I met a family with a Liel and a Gal. Can you guess which was the girl and which was the boy?
