Quote: | If a child had:
-decreased or absent response to environment
-decreased or absent eye contact
-inconsistent or absent responses to external stimuli,
would you venture a guess that he is autistic? |
No. I would venture that the child is tired. Or deaf. Or from a different culture.
Autism is primarily a communication and social interaction disorder, as you see by the DSM IV criteria listed on the CDC page. I have worked with autistic children who were quite responsive to their environment and made eye contact and responded to external stimuli.

What is the point of this post? You can bump up the old anti vaccine thread in the contraversal section or post in the natural moms one. There are side effects of not taking the vaccines too you know. To be labeled as autism you need to meet a criteria and it is more then three things. I know kids that refused to take the shot because they were scared...and it came out anyways.

I think I was pretty clear as to what my point was. I wanted to know if anyone else thought the three symptoms listed in the context of encephalopathy after shots, sounded like autism.
I know what autism is like and that there is a spectrum.
