Naamana and Meraglit

I saw these names on key holders in Israel! what do they mean? are they common?

MARGALIT not Meraglit. Margalit is a precious stone if I am not mistaken. Meraglit would be like a female spy (meragel=spy, shoresh ר.ג.ל like the meraglim.... proper hebrew would be meragelet for female spy)
Na'ama is a name. I have never heard Naamana. Na'ama is from the shoresh נ.ע.מ pleasant, if I am not mistaken

naamana means faithful. I'm guessing that the second name was actually margalit, which means some kind of precious stone, I'm not exactly sure which - but I would think meraglit would mean spy, like the meraglim Smile

There was definitely something after the r... maybe a aleph or something else.

Margalit is common in Vishnitz after a rebbitzen. Also, alot of Sefardim name their daughters Margalit after Harav Ovadya Yosef's wife

Never heard of namana-it means loyal. נאמנה

That's actually Margalia. Some give Margalit, but most of them are called Gooly.

I have always heard the translation of Margalit as "Pearl."
And "Na'ama" as "pleasantness" -- somewhat akin to Noam or Na'im.

I think Ruchel's DH saw these names in English lettering.
It seems like they just got it wrong in the store regarding both names - since they don't exist in Hebrew.

It seems like they just got it wrong in the store regarding both names - since they don't exist in Hebrew.

I saw them in Hebrew, searching for my dd's name, and called my dh to see and tell me what these names were (and also if he saw my dd's name, which they didn't have).

in I believe mishpacha they wrote abt rav ovadiah yosefs wife and they translated it as pearl
