Like in the E 28, E 29 area. Is there any train nearby? If not, do people haave to take a bus to the train?

You CAN walk, but you can easily take the bus. How far is it to Flatbush Ave 2/5 train? Maybe that's an option.

you can take the nostrand ave bus to the junction (Nostrand and Ave H) and then take the #2 or #5 train.
there's a lot to be said for getting on the train at the first stop - you can get a seat and ride comfortably.

The Q is a little bit of a walk but it is a very versatile train. It was my preferred one when I was living in that area.

It probably depends on where they are going - if they're going to midtown, they'd probably walk to the B/Q at M & 16th (or take the B9 bus down Ave L); if they're going downtown, they probably take the 2 or 5 from Flatbush Avenue.
