since ds is having a whole special day for his upsherin I told dd (twin) that she can have earrings. I heard that there are places that do both ears at one time to avoid double pain and also other places that put a topical anesthetic on the ear first. does anyone know any places like this is NY? where is the best place to get dd ear pierced?

It doesn't hurt to have your ears pierced. It's more of a pressure. DD was napping when hers were done.
I don't know of places that do both ears at the same time, but if you find a place with two "piercers", that would work too.
